No posts for a while. Been busy with new year-related activities.
Lately I had a blast up in the mountains (for result see right boob or scar on right leg). Can’t comment much on the snowboarding. It was fun to wriggle me and my soaked set down the slopes once again after a 7 year brake. Promise another board-pic in the coming summer.

Had that presentation of mine this Saturday. Went all right. Spent all night, and morning, on it until the very hour before I were to hold it.
Honestly I am sick of it.
…it’s good stuff though.

e-pill (Eddie) + wife came over, as mentioned.

We had food, and a blast, also as mentioned.

Eddies friend Risa (to the right) got us into Liquidroom in Ebisu. Liquidroom, where I happened to bump into Kazue. Haven’t seen her since we broke up about a year and half ago. I spent 10 minutes in shock, another 10 minutes in some confused state, 5-6 minutes having a ‘long time no see hope life is treating you well’-hug, 2 minute waving off her boyfriend who were just too jealous, 4 minutes being punched in the stomach by Kazue for unknown reason, 2-3 more minutes waving of boyfriend once more and, finally, 5 minutes in more shock whereas after she gracefully left with her company.
By that time I thought it would be great to get to know the sponsors of the event, Redbull or Smirnoff. Either which one it was, both were free at the bars inside.

Just incredibly busy. No time to upload photos this week, but, it’s due once everything clears up. Will hold a presentation in front of 3 top-banana universities on saturday. The topic? Semantic structured categories in visual files. In other words, I put structured information into the metadata space of digital images. Sounds profound. Ok, basically it’s just fooling around with photos.

Oh, e-pill, a productdesigner from the state came visit Japan. Went out, had a blast. A great one actually. First train home was 6 in the morning and work started shortly after. That part is spelled (>_<) in Japanese.

Gyouza today. How do you know it’s made by a barbaric foreigner? Because he, I, serve it with sallad.

We pot-heads had some nabe on Tuesday. To those who doesn’t know what nabe is, it’s any ol’ big pot, usually filled over and over with meat, tofu, veggies, mushrooms and perhaps some fat noodles called udon.
The nabe was over at my friend Tsubasas place, who’s toilet I think (by the way) looks troubled.

Also had some “Kaki”. Which we absolutely had to look up in the dictionary. “Japanese peach” is what I would call a Kaki. Looks like an orange tomato though. Practice makes perfect.

Friday night, grilling some tasties at Tamabi. That’s right; grilling right on campus. There were sweet potatoes, Eringi (mushrooms) and not yet done meatballs. We did all this around the the clubhouse area.
Got a load of work to do these coming few weekends so I won’t be writing much about the grilling of the goods, for now, other then that it was sweet.

This is Japanese ramen, Kyuushuu style. Yes, the meat floating so harmoniously is pig of course. Also featured in the bowl is seaweed strings, garlic, sesame-seeds and some other stuff that I’ve yet to learn the English/Swedish word for. And that little bowl of spicy vegetables? That’s from some self-service buckets on the table. At lunchtime this set comes accompanied by a plate of mini-dumplings and a complimentary bowl of rice topped with cod-roe.

See, this is what we are missing in Sweden; 5 meals in one.

I got some nice birthday presents from Sweden in the mail today.
– The winter set: scarves, caps, gloves, socks with snowflake prints, lip-balm, rose hip-soup.
– The university set: a Zara hoodie and loads of candy. Candy which I’ll be sharing with my friends at Tamabi this week, especially the santaclaus-shaped foamy ones.

I got my blog up. Which is all wonderful. I will begin snapping pictures on a somewhat daily basis. At least on a weekly one. This, mostly for my family back in Sweden to see my everyday life in Tokyo. Per request. So why post in English? Swedes might not be the only ones who’d be watching it. I will not spellcheack, by the way.

Without further ado here’s my first picture to start of this thing: my camera, the little L4 that will serve me for years to come. Hopefully.

Snappingly yours,
Peter
