Never got around to wear my Yukata this year, which was more then just a shame; had I missed my last chance? who knows if I’d be here next year, at all.
Defeing rain, cold & general buggery I put the summer-robe that is Yukata on last Saturday, for a firework-show at Tamagawa.
By putting it on, (being -that- kind of foreigner), I were giving people service: they get to chuckle, I get to wear something 1 mm thin as the only separation between my skin and whatever it happens to touch.
(I don’t have a picture of me and the Yukata. Camera broke around May. But up there is one from my cellphone that night. That white curtain of explosives is fireworks pooring from the bridge where the Keio trains run)
More fun followed: I finally had a chance to drag some people to “Nanjamonja” in Meidaimae (that’s where I live. Notice title of the blog!). The staff working there is all about fun. After karaoke by the station with the always adorable yankee-girl Risa (staff at Nanjamonja) we headed back to the (now closed) Izakaya where she served mango-sours in her undies.
